HALIFAX, Canada —
Police in Halifax, Nova Scotia, are serious about parking violations – even if the culprit is a 3-year-old biker in training.
According to CTV News, Officer Shawn Currie of Halifax Regional Police decided to have some fun when he saw young Declan Tramley "illegally parked" on a toy motorcycle. Currie bent down and jokingly issued the boy a fake ticket.
A hilarious photo of the incident, which shows Declan reacting dramatically with his hand on his head, has gone viral, with more than 19,000 likes and 5,000 shares on the police department's Facebook page.
And no worries: Declan wasn't really upset and actually enjoyed getting the ticket, his mother, Lisa Tramley, told CTV.
"He loves his ticket (now)," she said. "He tried to go to bed with his ticket."
Currie said he wanted to draw attention to the lighter side of law enforcement.
"It’s nice to show the different sides of police," he said. "We're not always making arrests and hauling people away. … We like to have fun."
